Materials & Care
We work exclusively with precious metals — it’s what we’ve always done, and you’ll
never see us working with stainless steel or brass.
Every Fravour piece is made from recycled sterling silver and 14ct gold plating — fine materials chosen for their lasting value, durability, skin compatibility, and refined appearance.
OUR Materials
925 sterling silver
Sterling silver is an alloy of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% copper. The copper strengthens the silver for everyday wear without affecting its natural glow. It’s been the most trusted material in jewellery for centuries.
Sterling silver is naturally hypoallergenic, containing no nickel (unlike cheaper metals that often irritate the skin).
When exposed to air or skin, silver can oxidize, forming a fine darker layer on the surface. This doesn’t harm the metal; it simply rests on top and can easily be polished or cleaned away.
All our silver pieces are finished with rhodium plating to protect color and shine, extending their durability.
Sterling silver is fully recyclable, retains its intrinsic value, and provides the perfect foundation for gold plating.
14ct Gold plating
Our gold plating is made from recycled 14ct gold, applied through electroplating — a process where each piece is placed in a gold bath under a light electric current, allowing the gold to bond evenly to the silver surface.
What defines longevity in gold plating is thickness. That’s why we use a 1-micron layer. This increases resistance to sweat, friction, and air pollution, ensuring your jewellery keeps its shine through years of wear.
Our gold-plated pieces are tested in an Italian laboratory against sweat and air pollution — because we know how men wear jewellery: they never take it off. They train, work, and even sleep with it on.
And even after years, when the gold layer fades, what remains is sterling silver which can be re-plated and restored again.

your care
A few small habits can make a big difference in how your jewellery ages over time. Even precious metals appreciate care.
- When not wearing your jewellery, store each piece separately in a soft pouch or your Fravour box. Avoid bathrooms or humid places, as moisture speeds up oxidation — keep it somewhere cool and dry.
- Salt and chemicals can wear down the surface over time. Remove your jewellery before a big workout, a swim, or when cleaning. Perfume, soap, sunscreen, alcohol, chlorine, and seawater all contain ingredients that react with precious metals.
- To keep your jewellery at its best, clean it every few weeks. For silver, use a soft polishing cloth to remove tarnish. For a deeper clean, use warm water and mild soap, then dry gently with a soft cloth. Gold-plated pieces are more delicate — polish them lightly with a soft cloth only, without soap or cleaning products.
Treat your jewellery as you would anything of value. The better you care for it, the longer it stays part of your story.
